Reflexology in Sheffield at Hudson & Wood is a form of complementary therapy that works on specific points on the feet to encourage balance throughout the body – and it's extremely relaxing. It's one of the treatments we began with at our independent salon on Sharrow Vale Road, S11, and still one of our clients' favourites.

What happens during reflexology in Sheffield
Reflexology is based on the idea that points on the feet relate to different areas and systems of the body. Using their thumbs and fingers, your reflexologist applies gentle, precise pressure to these points, working methodically across both feet.
It doesn't tickle (we promise!) – it feels like a firm, soothing foot massage with moments of focused pressure. Most people find it deeply calming, and plenty of clients drift off. Many people find they sleep better and feel more balanced afterwards.
- Consultation. A chat about your health, lifestyle and how you've been feeling, so we can tailor the treatment.
- Get comfy. Shoes and socks off, then settle back on a warm couch with a blanket.
- Relax the feet. Gentle massage to warm and relax your feet.
- Reflexology. Focused pressure on the reflex points of both feet.
- Come round. A few quiet moments, a glass of water and some simple aftercare advice.
Is it right for you?
Reflexology suits almost anyone who wants to relax, unwind and take some time out – and it's lovely if you don't want to undress for a massage. Many clients book it during stressful periods or as a regular way to look after themselves. It's a complementary therapy, so it's not a replacement for medical care – please tell us about any health conditions, and if you're pregnant, let us know when you book.
Before and after your visit
Avoid a heavy meal or alcohol just before. Afterwards, drink plenty of water and give yourself a gentle evening – you may feel very relaxed or a little sleepy.
